The floss band is an elastic compression band made of robust rubber material, which is used in joint mobilization and muscular regeneration. The application method—known as flossing—is based on the principle of controlled compression: the band is wrapped tightly around a joint or muscle area, after which targeted movements are performed under this compression. This approach is used equally in recreational and competitive sports, as well as in sports-related physical care.
Targeted compression to support joint mechanics and tissue regeneration
The biomechanical mechanism of action of the floss band is based on two complementary effects. On the one hand, the mechanical compression on the surrounding tissue has a direct effect on tissue adhesions and local tension, which can positively influence the gliding capacity of the fascia and joint mobility. On the other hand, the removal of the band after the compression phase leads to a reactive increase in local blood circulation, which supports the removal of metabolic waste products after intense exertion. The band consists of a stretchable, non-slip rubber material that allows for even wrapping and stays in place during use due to its own friction without slipping.
