The handles are made of solid wood, which gives the construction high dimensional stability while providing a pleasant, natural grip surface. Compared to plastic or metal surfaces, wood absorbs less moisture back to the surface, which aids grip even with sweaty hands. The trapezoidal feet, which are equipped with rubber pads on the underside, ensure a secure, non-slip stance on smooth surfaces. Of primary biomechanical relevance is the neutral wrist position created by gripping the round wooden bar: the wrist no longer has to be forced into the strong dorsal extension that is inevitable when supporting oneself on the flat floor, which noticeably reduces the strain on the corresponding structures.
