The weight chain is an additional weight for barbell training that operates on the principle of accommodating resistance. It is attached to the barbell and rests largely on the ground in the starting position. During the concentric phase of movement, the chain progressively lifts off the floor, causing the total weight to increase continuously. Its application includes classic compound exercises such as bench presses, squats, and deadlifts, and it is aimed at experienced strength athletes and high-performance athletes who want to purposefully vary their barbell training.
Resistance that increases with the stretching of the body
The biomechanical core of the weight chain lies in the dynamic load distribution along the entire range of motion: in the weaker bottom position, a large portion of the chain links still rests on the floor, which reduces the effective load; as extension increases, a growing portion of the chain lifts off and increases the total weight precisely in the phases of movement where muscular force development is greatest. This principle compensates for the weakness of conventional weight plates, whose constant load does not take into account the individual strength curve of an exercise and therefore systematically provides too little stimulus at the biomechanically strongest point. The chain is securely mounted to the barbell via the integrated attachment eyelet and is available in weight variants of 6 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg.
